Public Seminars at the Portland Classical Chinese Garden

Oregon College of Oriental Medicine Offers Public Seminars at the Portland Classical Chinese Garden

These events take place at the Garden, located at 239 NW Everett (on the corner of NW 3rd and Everett) in Portland’s Old Town/Chinatown neighborhood. Seminars are included in the price of admission to the Garden.

At these seminars, OCOM faculty members will speak on various topics based on their areas of clinical focus. March seminar information is as follows:

Eat Your Greens: The Healing Power of Vegetables
Tuesday, March 17 from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Mom always told you to eat your vegetables. Now you can learn why! Join us for a cooking demonstration and engaging talk about the healing properties of vegetables.

Berries, Bark and Roots: Benefitting from Chinese Herbs Tuesday, March 31 from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Join us as we venture into the vast subject of Chinese herbal medicine. This seminar will introduce you to the basics of Chinese herbal medicine and help you learn how Chinese herbs may benefit you.

The Garden hosts several signature events such as these throughout the year. The events are intended to enrich the Garden’s mission of engaging and educating visitors in the richly authentic culture of China and allow visitors to see the Garden in new ways.

This seminar series has been extremely successful, so OCOM will also be offering public seminars at the Garden from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM every Tuesday from June 16 – September 1.
