YU MIAO MANDARIN PRESCHOOL STILL HAS SPACES AVAILABLE

Yu Miao preschool, which is run by the Asian Health and Service Center, is expanding their program in the fall. Previously they were only open three mornings a week and for a maximum of 20 children. Starting in the fall they will be offering both morning and afternoon school options as well as a full-time option including some before and after care for families that need it.

All of the instruction and even the less-structured time (which will be there mostly for the all-day kids) is run in Mandarin. All the teachers are fluent in Mandarin and English at minimum--many of the teachers know more than just the two languages. They still have about 10 spaces available for fall in the new location (about 35th and Powell in SE Portland). The AHSC web site is: http://www.ahscpdx.org/ and the site has a full press release and much more information about the changes. To contact the administrator, Edith Lee, directly: elee@ahscpdx.org.
