PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) will be hosting An Evening with OCOM: Bringing Healing to the Heart of the City at the Portland Classical Chinese Garden on Thursday, June 11 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. The event is free and open to the public. OCOM’s trustees, alumni, community advocates, corporate supporters, faculty and staff, as well as prominent business and civic leaders will be invited to attend.
Guests will have the opportunity to experience the various modalities of traditional Chinese medicine (acupuncture, massage, Chinese herbs and medicinal cooking), sample gourmet hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Wong’s King, enjoy sake and rice wine tastings, and meet the visionaries who have shaped OCOM’s rich history and those who will advance the college’s mission.
The Portland Classical Chinese Garden is located on the corner of NW 3rd and Everett in Old Town/Chinatown. OCOM has been partnering for several months now with the Garden, holding public seminars on the benefits of traditional Chinese medicine for its guests.
OCOM is a proud and enthusiastic partner in Old Town/Chinatown’s cultural renaissance. The college is slated to relocate to the historic Globe Hotel – known to many Portlanders as the Import Plaza building – in the fall of 2010.
Sponsors for this event include CHP Group, NW Natural, BEAM Development, Willamette Week, The Nines and Zen Space Healing Center.
Join us for a lively celebration of the transformative effects of traditional Chinese medicine and OCOM’s commitment to the culture and vitality of this historic Portland neighborhood. RSVP for this event by phone at 503-253-3443 x230 or email rsvp@ocom.edu.

I am trying to find host families for middle/high school aged Chinese students coming to the Lake Oswego area for two weeks this summer (July 15-29) I would love any contacts you might have of anyone who might be willing to be a host family for a student.
